HAKI collaborates on Hurtigruten shipbuilding

Norwegian cruise, ferry and cargo operator, Hurtigruten, contracted our customer, Kleven Verft AS, to construct a groundbreaking hybrid-powered expedition cruise ship earlier this year.
The expedition ship will accommodate 530 guests, taking them around the world in a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly way than ever seen before. It will be built to withstand some of the most extreme weather conditions, including an ice-strengthened hull.
The design, construction, engineering and technology will be based on Hurtigruten’s next-generation ships, MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen.
To support the project, HAKI has contributed approximately 250 tonnes of Universal scaffolding for the shipbuilding.
