Circular Scaffolding

HAKI Universal can easily be used for circular or tank scaffold structures, without the need for additional or special components.

Although lending all the same safety features as independent scaffolds, the HAKI Universal scaffolding system also delivers some unique benefits when used for more complex circular scaffolds.

Scaffold tolerance

Horizontal components to be turned 7° relative to the standard, as permitted by the HAKI ‘hook-on’ method of erection. The scaffold can therefore be rotated by up to 14° on plan at each standard to create a circular structure.

A radial plate is available for an unusual bay sizes, to cover any gaps between towers.

Time and cost saving

The solution provided by the HAKI Universal scaffolding system saves time and materials. This is because the full structure can be erected with systemized components without need for tube and fittings for handrails and infills.

Safer working at height

Circular scaffolds using HAKI Universal are erected in the same way as all HAKI solutions – with Advanced Guard Rails – to provide optimum collective fall protection.

Like all other HAKI solutions, robust steel or aluminium decks can be used to enhance safety when working at height. However, if traditional scaffold boards are preferred, these are also compatible.

Project case study: CETAC at Vitry-sur-Seine

HAKI provided a circular scaffolding solution using the fast, safe and adaptable Universal system, so inspection for maintenance work could take place on this fuel tank.

HAKI beam riders and puncheon units allowed access around site obstacles, and adjustable connectors along with circular cover plates made the working platforms safe.

The client said:

HAKI Universal is lighter than ring scaffold, needs less components and can be erected faster and safer. It’s the best system for circular tanks.’’
